Researchers from Dobrudzha Agricultural Institute participated in a workshop in Osijek, Croatia

During 25th – 27th October 2023, a workshop and training within the AGFORWEB project “Agroforestry practices in the Western Balkans for sustainable development: weaknesses and strengths” took place in the Agrobiotechnical Sciences Faculty of the University in Osijek, Croatia. The project is co-financed by the European Union within the framework of the Erasmus+ Program КА220-HED-000089900 – Partnership and cooperation in higher education, 2022-2024.

Chief Assistant Dr. Zornitsa Petrova and Assistant Researcher Atanas Atanasov from the Agrotechnology and Animal Breeding Department of DAI participated in the workshop. The two young researchers were invited to join the forum by their mentors from the University of Forestry in Sofia Associate Professor Dr. Krasimira Petrova and Associate Professor Dr. Nasko Iliev.

The main purpose of the training was to get the participants acquainted with the development of the agroforestry practices applicable in Bulgaria, Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro. Presentations on this topic were delivered by associate professors and Ph.D. students from Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro.

At the end of the project period, in November 2024, a textbook on agroforestry practices will be published in Croatian, Serbian, Montenegrin and Bulgarian languages.
